WILLMAR -- The Willmar Cardinals left Sauk Rapids in their wake in most events to come away with a 118-68 win against their Central Lakes foe on Thursday night.
The meet highlight, however, belonged to the Storm. Diver Wes Schlichting acrobatic performance off the one-meter board registered a record score of 279.0. The pool record of 270.0 had been held by Steve Mohbar of Alexandria since 1996.
Willmar now prepares for the Central Lakes meet Feb. 7 and 9 at Alexandria followed by sections and state.
Robert Brau of Willmar beat Colby Baker of Sauk by 1.1 second in the 500 free.
