RENVILLE -- Sylvia La Fern Lorette, 93, of Renville died Sunday at the RenVilla Nursing Home in Renville.
The service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Renville. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Renville.
Visitation will be one before the service at the church. Dirks-Blem Funeral Service in Renville is handling arrangements.
She was born June 22, 1914, in Durand, Wis., to Henry and Louise (Pomasel) Meixner. When she was 2, they moved to Minneapolis. She later graduated from Central High School.

She married Willard Lorette on Dec. 1, 1934, in Minneapolis. In the late 1930s, they moved to Renville. They opened a dry cleaning and tailoring shop, which they were still operating when they started a mink ranch. They sold the dry cleaning shop in 1946 and the mink ranch in the 1970s. They spent 28 winters in Estero, Fla.
She was a 35-year member of the Renville Civic Club, where she held an office of treasurer. She was a member of the Renville United Methodist Church for many years where she taught Sunday school and held various offices in the United Women's society. She became a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Renville of 2004. She played the piano at Estero Methodist Church.
She is survived by her two sons: Willard (and Deborah) of St. Cloud, and Michael (and Noreen) of Maple Valley, Wash.; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one sister: Mabel Larson of Mesa, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister and two brothers.
