OLIVIA -- Charges have been filed against a 17-year-old Olivia teen who allegedly hacked into another teenager's MySpace. com account and used it to threaten students and a teacher at Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City High School. Meeker County Sheriff's deputies were called to the high school on Oct. 10 to investigate the threats.

Cozy Lynn Schick is facing a felony for making terroristic threats and a gross misdemeanor for facilitating access to a computer security system. The charges were filed Thursday in Renville County District Court. Arraignment is scheduled for Dec. 3.

According to the petition, Schick and another individual received a password to the person's MySpace.com account on Oct. 8. Another party gave them the password and the account's original owner did not consent to their access to the account.

Schick allegedly accessed the MySpace page, changed many of the personal settings and sent threatening messages to people listed on the page. Obscene messages were also posted on the page itself. Schick also is accused of changing the password to the page.

The message sent to an ACGC teacher included cuss words and a text-style comment that included "im goin 2 bring a gun to school 2 moro and kill every one hahahahaha got ya."

The page owner became aware of the changes the next day because other students were asking her why she was sending threatening messages. She accessed the account and saw the offending material.

That same day, Meeker County investigators traced the log-in to a computer at the home of the other individual, listed as "D.D." in the complaint.

During an interview with police, Schick admitted to receiving the password, changing the page and sending the threatening messages to the teacher and others.
