WILLMAR -- Guillermo Lopez Jr., 18, of Willmar, was arraigned Monday in Kandiyohi County District Court on six felony charges for an August domestic incident when he is alleged to have attempted to kidnap a woman and threatened to kill her.
Judge Gerald J. Seibel set Lopez's unconditional bail at $50,000. No conditional bail was allowed. Lopez was also arraigned on a gross misdemeanor charge for escaping from custody and a misdemeanor for underage consumption.
Lopez was arrested around 4:30 a.m. Saturday by Willmar police officers after they were called to an apartment building on the city's southwest side. Officers suspected he had been drinking, and his blood-alcohol content tested at a 0.065.
An arrest warrant was issued for Lopez after he walked away from the county recycling center while doing community service work on June 28. He was sentenced, as an adjudicated delinquent, on June 25 to 90 days in jail for escaping from custody, violating a harassment restraining order and assault.
The charges in the domestic incident include attempted kidnapping, domestic assault, assault, harassment-stalking and terroristic threats.

According to the complaint, police were called around 12:40 p.m. Aug. 9 to a Willmar apartment complex to investigate an attempted kidnapping and beating of a woman.
The woman, who formerly had a relationship with Lopez, told the officer that Lopez attacked her as she was attempting to move to a safe place away from him. She had been attempting to get away from him for several days. He allegedly threatened to kill her and her children if she tried to run away again.
Lopez was dragging the woman away and attempting to pick up the children while other women at the scene were attempting to free the woman and the kids from his grasp. During the struggle, one of the women pulled a fire alarm and then Lopez dropped the woman and ran away. He then returned, but the women locked the door and called 911.
In an interview with police, the woman told officers she was "truly afraid he is going to kill me."
Lopez's next court appearance is Nov. 26.
