NEW LONDON -- A teenage New London boy was run over Saturday evening after he reportedly rode his bike out in front of a vehicle along First Avenue Northwest.
Bret Lee Gerke, 14, was riding his bike south on Pine Street Northwest when he crossed the intersection of First Avenue in front of an oncoming vehicle. The vehicle, driven by Timothy Clinton Ryks, 18, of Spicer was unable to slow down and ran over Gerke, according to a preliminary report to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Department.
The report says Gerke was up and walking after being run over but that he did suffer some injuries from the accident.
