CALIFORNIA -- Theodore A. "Ted" Tiegs, 88, of California died Friday.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church in Renville. Burial is at Fairview Cemetery in Renville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Hospice Partners of the Central Coast in San Luis Obispo, Calif., or Quaker Meadow Camp in Fountain Valley, Calif.
He was born July 15, 1919, in Hankinson, N.D., to Theodore and Emma Tiegs.
He married Phyllis Kramer on Sept. 23, 1942, in Athens, Ga. He served in the U.S. Eighth Army Air Force from 1942 to 1945, stationed in Saffronwalden, England. He moved to Alhambra, Calif., in 1952. In 1984, he retired, and they lived in Santa Maria, Calif.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother and three sisters.
He was preceded by two sisters and three brothers.
