ST. PAUL - New charges were filed Friday against a therapist at Boys Totem Town, accusing her of having sex with a teen who lived at the St. Paul center.
Karen Anne Meyer, 30, had been charged in February with aiding an offender after allegedly helping a 17-year-old boy escape from Boys Totem Town, a residential center for delinquent teens. She was charged Friday with three felony counts of criminal sexual conduct by a therapist and person in a position of authority.
A warrant has been issued for her arrest. She did not immediately return a call for comment.
According to the criminal complaint, Meyer and the boy, identified as JLW, “had developed an intimate relationship.” The two met several times a day, while “other clients would request to meet with (Meyer) and she would not have time to see them.”
JLW was reported missing, along with another resident, Feb. 11. Sources told investigators that Meyer assisted the escape by providing a ride and giving JLW money, the charges said.
