DAWSON -- Thomas Albert Gillott, 83, of Montevideo, formerly of Dawson, died March 11 at Sun Bridge in Montevideo.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Dawson.

Visitation will be Friday at Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson, with the family from 5:30 to 7 p.m., a prayer service at 6:45 p.m., and Masonic services at 7 p.m.

He was born Jan. 12, 1923, in Dawson to Elmer and Florence (Peterson) Gillott. He grew up in Dawson and graduated from Dawson High School in 1941. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945 and later served from 1951 to 1952.

He married Alice Johnson in December 1952. He later married Lois Burgan. He worked as a crop sprayer in the Dawson area until a serious accident in 1953. He moved to Minneapolis and worked for Control Data. He retired in 1988 and returned to Dawson. He moved to Montevideo in 2003.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Dawson, the Shriners, American Legion, VFW and was a Mason.

He is survived by his son: Tracy (and Julie) Gillott of Montevideo; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister: Phyllis (and George) Fletcher of Vancouver, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, in 1973.
