Three charged in felony assault of Vikings fan

SANTA CLARA -- Three people have been charged for felony assault on a Minnesota Vikings fan and security officer after the Monday night game against San Francisco.

SANTA CLARA - Three people have been charged for felony assault on a Minnesota Vikings fan and security officer after the Monday night game against San Francisco.
A video of the incident near the parking lot outside Levi’s Stadium went viral on social media and news outlets the next day.
Although by the time police arrived everyone had dispersed the night before, Santa Clara police detectives worked the next day to review the video and quickly identified two victims. Detectives also eventually identified the four suspects, also including a female juvenile, from the video.
Late Thursday night, the detectives arrested Felix Chavira, 32, of Hollister; Juan Arias, 33, of Hollister, and Eric Martinez, 30, of San Jose. The three were transported to Santa Clara County Jail. The female juvenile was issued a criminal citation and released to her parents.
The 35-year-old victim wearing a Vikings jersey suffered injuries that were non-life threatening. The 18-year-old security officer also suffered injuries that were non-life threatening. The investigation is ongoing.
