COLLEGEVILLE -- Wade Powers of New London-Spicer, Linda Keller of Paynesville and Liberty Slinden of Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City each won twice at the Section 5A Track and Field Championships on Wednesday in Collegeville.
Powers won the shot and discus and Slinden the same in the girls division. Keller took honors in both the 1,600 and 3,200 runs.
Area hurdlers also dominated. Justin Hanson of ACGC won the 110 highs with Travis Jimenez second in both hurdle events.
The NLS 4x800 finished first to advance to the state meet at Hamline University on June 6-7.
Other individual winners were Mike Bredeson of Litchfield in the high jump, Kolt Therkilsen of NLS in the triple jump and freshman Alanna Dietz of NLS in the 300 low hurdles.

The Paynesville girls won the 4x400 relay at Clements Stadium.
Other state qualifiers are Jimenez in the long jump, Abby Goraczkowski of Litchfield in the shot , Kaitlyn Frenchick of Paynesville in the triple jump and Heidi Lensing in high jump.
