NEW LONDON — Starting Monday, weather permitting, construction is scheduled to begin on a Kandiyohi County Road 40 reconstruction project, located 0.25 miles east of County Road 4 to County Road 2, east of New London. The project should be completed by October.

According to a news release from the county, that section of County Road 40 will be closed to through traffic during construction. Travelers will be detoured to County Road 98 and County Road 2. Local residents will have access.

Duininck Inc., of Prinsburg, is the lead contractor. The project will include grading and adding the aggregate base.

The Kandiyohi County Public Works Department is asking motorists to slow down if they are around the construction zone, for their safety and the safety of workers.
