GRANITE FALLS — Community members are encouraged to give input on the state Highway 67 Granite Falls to Echo project in a virtual open house. Members are invited to attend when it is convenient for them by visiting the Minnesota Department of Transportation project web page.
The project is taking place because MnDOT closed a portion of Highway 67 between Granite Falls and Echo in the spring of 2019. The roadway is unstable because of the movement of the earth.
It is not feasible to repair in place or realign Highway 67 because of the impacts to the environment, historic and cultural sites, as well as the high cost. The virtual open house is looking for community input on two options of rerouting Highway 67.
