OLIVIA -- The Renville County District Court set trial days of Jan. 14 to 18, 2008, for Brian Denton, 50, of rural Redwood Falls. Denton has been charged with the attempted murder of his wife.
According to a news release from the Renville County Attorney's Office, the charges stem from an April 4 incident in which the victim was transported to the Redwood Area Hospital in Redwood Falls with severe head injuries. An investigation by the Renville County Sheriff's Office led to charges filed May 8 against Denton. The charges include first-degree attempted murder, second-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault.
Denton is being held in the Yellow Medicine County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail.
