WILLMAR -- A Minnesota State Patrol squad car was hit Monday morning after another car slid out of control, causing a chain-reaction crash south of Willmar on U.S. Highway 71.
State trooper Casey Meagher said he was stopped at the location -- about four miles south of Willmar -- to assists with a multi-car crash and vehicles in the ditch when his car was hit.
A car driven by 37-year-old Deborah Louise Petersen, of Willmar, slid out of control, smashing into a parked Ford Taurus and Meagher's squad car.
Petersen was taken to Rice Memorial Hospital with minor injuries and later released, according to reports from the State Patrol.
