MINNEAPOLIS -- Residents in the Twin Cities area are digging out from snowfall that reached almost a foot in some places, while authorities are responding to dozens of car crashes and vehicles that slid off the road.
Todd Krause is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Minneapolis. He says the storm system that swept through the area Saturday morning dumped 11 inches in Eden Prairie and 10 inches in the Forest Lake and Mankato areas.
St. Paul Police Cmdr. Jack Serier says officers have responded to 20 to 30 car accidents, and none involved a fatality or major injury.
