ST. PAUL -- Alycia Dahl, a 5-11 senior middle hitter, pounded down 15 kills and Northern Freeze swept Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 25-15, 25-13, 25-21 in the Class A consolation round of the state volleyball tournament Friday at Xcel Energy Center.
BBE finishes the season 27-5.
BBE led 4-2 in the opening game after a kill by Heidi Lensing, a 5-11 junior who finished with a team-high 14 kills and 34 for the two days.
But Northern Freeze, a cooperatively-sponsored program of Karlstad, Marshall County Central and Newfolden, scored the next four points and never looked bck.
BBE led 1-0 in the second and third games, but never had the advantage after that. The Jaguars did manage to tie the second game 8-8.

In the third game, BBE fell behind 10-2 and 18-9 before mounting a comeback and outscored the Freeze 12-4 to close within 22-21. Sarah Gruber served five straight points during the stretch during which Lensing fired off four kills.
Dahl then had a kill to make it 23-21. The Freeze then closes out the match when Molly Magner aced a serve and MacKinzie Magner had a kill.
The Jaguars were competing in the state tournament for the second time in three years. They also went 0-2 in 2005.
BBE fell to Mayer Lutheran in four games in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
Emily Roelike, a 5-6 junior outside hitter, had six kills, was 11-for-11 serving with two aces and led the Jaguars with 11 digs. Gruber finished with 21 assists.
Molly Magner delivered eight ace serves for the Freeze (29-4), who will play Wheaton for the consolation title today. MacKinzie Magner had nine kills and Sasha Magner added seven.
