GRANITE FALLS – Two people were injured early Monday morning in Yellow Medicine County in a crash involving a deer.

The accident was reported at 12:48 a.m. on U.S. Highway 59, south of 210th Avenue.

According to the State Patrol, a 2005 Cadillac Deville, driven by Salvador Pena, 41, of Fulda, swerved to miss a deer and ran off the road and rolled.

Pena and a passenger, Kimberly Ann Remer, 33, of St. Paul, were taken to the Granite Falls hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
