A two-vehicle collision Tuesday on state Highway 24 on the edge of Litchfield sent two to the hospital.

LITCHFIELD — Two people were injured around 11:56 a.m. Tuesday after a driver failed to yield to another on state Highway 24 at Meeker County Road 34, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

According to the State Patrol, Marilyn Renee Dvorak, 76, of Litchfield, and her passenger, Isabelle Shirley Matteson, 89, of Litchfield, were traveling eastbound on Highway 24 in a 2015 Chevrolet pickup when Dustin Lee Guza, 39, of Litchfield was attempting to turn southbound on County Road 34 in a 2019 Toyota Camry.

According to the report, Guza failed to yield to Dvorak's vehicle. Dvorak and Matteson were transported to Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield for non-life-threatening injuries.

The State Patrol report does not list any injuries for Guza.

Both Matteson and Guze were wearing their seatbelts and it’s unknown if Dvorak was.

Road conditions were dry and alcohol was not involved, according to the State Patrol.
