WAITE PARK – Two swimmers were injured in two separate incidents Friday afternoon at the Quarry Park and Nature Preserve in Waite Park.
The incidents happened within a couple hours of each other.
According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Department, at 12:44 p.m. Alexis Marie Hennen, 20, of Prior Lake fell from the rocks in the swimming quarry and had cuts on her head and foot. She was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.
The second incident was reported at 3:10 p.m. when Michaella Huffman, 23, of Circle Pines was injured after she jumped off a cliff at the swimming quarry and another person jumped after her, landing on Huffman’s head.
According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Huffman was temporarily unconscious and two friends pulled her out of the water and onto the nearby rocks. According to the report, she regained consciousness before being pulled from the water and was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
