Two members of the Ridgewater College faculty have been named Outstanding Educators by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System Board of Trustees.

Katy Lundell-Stuhr teaches massage therapy at Ridgewater's Willmar campus.

Colleen Norgren teaches in the Administrative Support Careers program, specializing in the legal assistant online program. She also teaches business law.

Normally, Minnesota State would recognize Outstanding Educators at a spring celebration, but that was canceled because of the global pandemic. Instead, they received virtual recognition on the Minnesota State website and during a Ridgewater all-faculty virtual meeting in April.

Lindell-Stuhr was honored by Minnesota State for her “determination, sense of commitment and persistence” in supporting students to reach their full potential.

Stuhr also practices chiropractic part-time and acupuncture medicine. She is also a certified yoga instructor. She is pursuing a specialization in oncology massage and is working with a statewide network to help draft legislation to require massage therapy licensing in Minnesota.

Norgren has taught 15 years, six with Ridgewater. She has 27 years of experience in legal professions. She currently works as a paralegal and law library manager for the Wright County Law Library. She is also an ethics committee investigator with the 18th District Lawyers Professional Responsibility Board.

According to comments from the Minnesota State recognition, Norgren’s students “appreciate her clear and consistent expectations, accessible instructional methods, and her diligent commitment to help them meet their educational goals.”

In a news release, Ridgewater President Craig Johnson said Ridgewater is fortunate to have them on the faculty. He praised their passion for their programs and their students and their consistent commitment to strong academic standards.
