ST. MARTIN -- Two Paynesville residents were taken to the Paynesville Hospital Wednesday afternoon after the car they were riding in left the road and vaulted into a plowed field about one mile south of St. Martin.
Richard Stephen Fleischhacker, 73, and Eileen Catherine Fleischhacker, 66, were riding in the car westbound along Stearns County Road 32 when the accident occurred. According to a news release from the Stearns County Sheriff's Office, the vehicle left the road on the south side and vaulted about 75 feet into a field.
Richard was allegedly driving the 2000 Buick Century during the accident and was able to drive the car out of the field. The two drove to their home before calling for assistance around 3:30 p.m.
Eileen was transported to Paynesville Hospital by Paynesville Ambulance and Richard was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle.
St. Martin Rescue assisted at the residence.
