Two-year-old boy rescued from manure pit west of St. Cloud

Two-year-old boy rescued from farm manure pit in Farming Township in Stearns County Monday night.

ST. CLOUD — A 2-year-old boy trapped in a liquid manure pit was rescued by emergency personnel Monday night, according to a Stearns County Sheriff’s Office news release.

According to law enforcement, deputies originally responded to the call around 8 p.m. on the 22000 block of 300th Street in Farming Township, which is about 26 miles west of St. Cloud.

Albany Fire and Rescue located the boy who had both his legs and right arm submerged about a foot from the edge of the manure pit.

Albany Rescue tied a rope around one of their personnel to reach the boy to pull him out.

The boy did not suffer any injuries.

Melrose Ambulance and Albany Police Department assisted with the rescue.
