Pat Robertson is absolutely right! Why should we spend billions more of our hard-earned American dollars and sacrifice countless more young American lives as we have in Iraq just to eliminate a duly elected president like Hugo Chavez when he frustrates the interests of our oil corporations in Venezuela?

I have never been able to understand why an Iraqi so eager to get to heaven by enrolling as a suicide terrorist didn't take care of such a hated, tryrannical dictator as Saddam Hussein long ago. And why are so many willing to sacrifice their young lives against the great liberators of their country now?

But I do not think that the use of an evangelical hit man to take Chavez out when he visits this country in the near future is the best way to go. First of all, his own people, especially those in the barrios, appreciate the fact that he wants to use Venezuelan oil reserves to benefit his own people and not U.S. oil interests. We might just alienate all of South America in the process. The coup against him that we helped stage several years ago failed miserably, and we ended up with hot tamale sauce all over our face, if you remember.

Robertson has used his powerful influence with God to punish gays and lesbians and their sicko sympathizers in Florida by redirecting the paths of hurricanes, so instead of an outright assassination by the Christian right, how about we get God to visit some plagues on the Venezulans, especially those from the barrios, who elected Chavez to the presidency of their country in the first place? It wouldn't involve us directly, only Robertson and God, it wouldn't be nearly so messy and we could still get at their oil!
