WILLMAR -- Rice Memorial Hospital officials plan to issue a public statement after they've met with the family of a medical records worker who died Monday following a workplace accident.
"I think out of respect they should hear from us first," chief executive Lorry Massa said Tuesday afternoon.
Sue Leukam, 51, of Belgrade died Monday at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Family members said that she was injured Friday when an automatic filing machine fell on her at Rice Memorial Hospital.
Massa said hospital officials are hoping to be able to meet with Leukam's family in the next couple of days.

"It's really in their hands," he said. "This is obviously a very difficult time for them as well as for us."
The accident is under investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Willmar Police.

Don Leukam said his wife wasn't scheduled to work Friday, but volunteered to go in to cover other shifts while people went shopping after Thanksgiving.
"She's going to be missed," he said. "I don't really know what happened, but I want to know just for closure."
