WILLMAR -- Four people were taken to Rice Memorial Hospital after a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon at the intersection of Business 71 and 23rd Street Northeast near the county Health and Human Services building and Law Enforcement Center.
Robert Smith, 56, of Golden Valley, was driving a 2001 Audi Quatro TT that collided with a 1997 Jeep driven by Jay Undestad, 45, of Silver Lake. Both had front-seat passengers, Glenn Smogoleski, 49, of Spicer, was riding in Smith's vehicle. Mari Curtis, 45, also of Silver Lake, was a passenger in Undestad's car. Smith was northbound in the right lane of Business 71 and struck Undestad's vehicle after he attempted to cross the highway from east to west.
All four were treated at Rice Hospital for minor injuries. All were wearing their seatbelts and airbags deployed for everyone except Undestad, according to the state patrol report.
