Update: Willmar, Minn. family injured in weekend accident in Swift County

BENSON - Five members of a Willmar family were injured in a two-vehicle accident Saturday west of Kerkhoven, with at least one sustaining critical injuries.

BENSON – Five members of a Willmar family were injured in a two-vehicle accident Saturday west of Kerkhoven, with at least one sustaining critical injuries.

According to the Swift County Sheriff’s Department a mini-van driven by Craig Price, 50, of Willmar, collided with a semi-truck and trailer driven by Henry Feeken, 67, of Spicer at around 10 p.m. Saturday on Swift County Road 6 and 30th Ave. Southeast.

Price was air-lifted from the scene of the accident to St. Cloud Hospital with critical injuries.

All four passengers in the van were also injured, including Sheryl Price, 49, Julia Price, 16, Joseph Price, 11 and Michael Price, 10, all of Willmar.

They were initially taken to the Swift County-Benson Hospital, but according to the sheriff’s office, one of the passengers was flown to North Memorial Hospital and one was taken by ambulance to a St. Cloud hospital.

Feeken was not injured.

The accident is being investigated by the Swift County Sheriff’s Department and the State Patrol.

The initial report indicates alcohol was not a factor.
