PAYNESVILLE -- Vern A. Johnson, 90, of Paynesville died Thursday at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville. A private burial will take place.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and for one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church in Paynesville. Arrangements are by the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville. Memorials are preferred.
He was born Nov. 17, 1916, in Benson to Ole and Anna (Larson) Johnson.

He married Rita Free on July 18, 1940, in St. Cloud. He owned and operated Vern Johnson Motors in Paynesville since 1950.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Lions Club, Paynesville Area Chamber of Commerce, the first Economic Development Corporation and the Aircraft Owner and Pilots Association.
He is survived by his son: Dick (and Carol) of Paynesville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1994 and a sister.
