HUTCHINSON -- Vernon Delmar Larson, 86, of Longwood, Fla., and formerly of Hutchinson, died Friday at Orlando Veterans Health Care Center in Orlando, Fla.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Heights Covenant Church in Hutchinson. Spring burial will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield.
He was born Sept. 15, 1922, in Grove City to Victor and Gertrude (Levander) Larson.
After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he returned to the Litchfield area and worked for Meeker County Oil Company. He then moved to Albert Lea and worked as a federal meat inspector.

He married his wife, Jean, in 1948.
They moved to St. Cloud where he worked for the public schools. He then took a job at 3M and moved to Hutchinson. He retired in 1982. They moved to Florida four years ago.
Vernon was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife; children: Rick (and Terri) Larson of Hutchinson, Sherry (and Rich) Thompson of Longwood and Loren (and Kelli) Larson of Austin, Texas; 8 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers: Allen Larson of Litchfield and Gordon Larson of Hutchinson; and sisters: Irene Booth of Garfield and Eileen Paul of Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
