BELGRADE -- An informational meeting about a golf course designed for handicapped veterans is planned for Thursday.
The meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church at 600 Washburn Ave. in Belgrade.
Marlyn Marquardt, a Vietnam War veteran, is building a nine-hole golf course and clubhouse on agricultural land in Colfax Township near the Kandiyohi-Stearns county line. The golf course is intended to honor veterans who have fought in various wars.
The Kandiyohi County Board approved a conditional use permit for the golf course last December.
Marquardt is hosting the meeting to inform the community about the course, answer questions and ask for community support.
