SPICER -- Willmar won three of four games in the District 5 VFW tournament this past weekend and moved into today's championship game.
Willmar lost its first game on Saturday to Morris, 4-1, then reeled off three straight wins.
Willmar will play Alexandria today at 6 p.m. and will have to win twice to advance to state.

Willmar pounded out 14 hits against four Madison pitchers, including a 4-for-5 performance from Sam Spaulding, who drove in three runs.
Tyler Brower, Jordan Ruter, Jacob Damhof and Jacob Rambow had two hits each for Willmar. Rambow, Brower, Damhof and Adam Fagerstrom drove in two runs each.
Andrew Bangen gor the win in relief with three shutout innings.

Tyler Brower and Andrew Bangen had three hits apiece for Post 1839. Adam Fagerstrom, Austin Adamson, Jacob Damhof and Sam Spaulding had two hits each.
Nathaniel Swoyer went all seven innings for the win, scattering eight hits. He walked one and struck out 11.
