PENNOCK – A rural Pennock man and woman have been identified as the two people killed in the car accident reported late Sunday north of Pennock.

David Frank, 76, reportedly died at the scene of the accident at Kandiyohi County Road 1 and County Road 27. His passenger, Mildred Frank, 75, was transported to Rice Memorial Hospital where she later was pronounced dead, according to a news release from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver of the other vehicle, Matthew Gingery, 40, from Ozark, Mo., reportedly was treated at Rice Memorial Hospital for what were described as non-life-threatening injuries and was later released.

David Frank reportedly was traveling along Kandiyohi County Road 1 at the time of the accident. Gingery reportedly was traveling along County Road 27 and failed to yield at the stop sign at the intersection, said Chief Deputy Greg Stehn.

Stehn said the crash still remains under investigation.

The crash occurred at 9:09 p.m. about four miles north of Pennock in Mamre Township.
