WILLMAR -- The Willmar Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire around 3:30 p.m. today in the McDonalds parking lot along First Street South in Willmar.
Onlookers watched as firefighters battled the blaze in pouring rain. Firefighters extinguished the fire within minutes, which caused heavy damage to the vehicle.
The owner of the Ford Taurus came out the restaurant to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames, Willmar Interim Fire Chief Jeff Gilbertson said.
The Willmar Police Department was also on scene directing traffic along First Street.
