MURDOCK - One man was injured when two International tractor trailers collided around 10:29 a.m. Wednesday on U.S. Highway 12 about one mile west of Murdock.
Michael S. Peterson, 32, of Atwater, was transported to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar for what were described as non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
According to the accident report, Peterson was driving a 2006 International tractor trailer west on U.S. Highway 12. A 1999 International tractor trailer driven by Bradley T. Smith, 54, of Murdock, turned onto west U.S. Highway 12 from a driveway.
Peterson in the first truck tried to pass Smith in the second truck, which was turning south to 100th Avenue Southeast and struck the first truck.
The truck driven by Peterson then rolled onto its side in the ditch on the south side of the highway.
Smith did not report any injuries. Both vehicles were severely damaged in the collision. The Murdock Fire Department, Benson Ambulance, and Swift County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
