The National Football League on Tuesday named Vikings safety Dwight Smith as the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Minnesota's win over the New York Giants.
Smith had two interceptions Sunday as the Vikings beat the Giants 41-17. He returned one of them 93 yards for a touchdown and had 112 interception return yards.
