STARBUCK -- Viola Wersinger, 82, of Starbuck died Tuesday at the Swift County-Benson Hospital in Benson.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Church of the Sacred Heart in Glenwood. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Glenwood.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood, with parish prayers at 7 p.m., and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
She was born Feb. 16, 1924, in Granville, Iowa, to Theodore and Anna (Nichols) Schwebach. The family moved to Hospers, Iowa, when she was 8 and she attended St. Anthony's Catholic School.

She married Joseph Wersinger on June 16, 1942, in Seattle, Wash. They moved to a farm near Pierz in 1946. They purchased their farm in Rolling Forks Township in 1951. She was a farm wife.
She is survived by her children: Joseph T. (and Doris) Wersinger of Cyrus, Dennis (and Tootie) Wersinger of Starbuck, Ronald Wersinger of Glenwood, Floyd Wersinger of Willmar, Carol (and Tyrone) Jergenson of Alexandria, Violet Loen of Benson, Kenneth (and Dixie) Wersinger of Alexandria, Leland (and Kathy) Wersinger of Pennock, Ralph (and Lori) Wersinger of Willmar; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998; six brothers and two sisters.
