WILLMAR -- Violet Gudren Stageberg, 96, of Willmar, formerly of Madison, died Tuesday at Bethesda Pleasantview in Willmar.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Chapel in Willmar. Burial will be at Faith Lutheran Cemetery in Madison.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
She was born June 14, 1911, in Lac Qui Parle Township, to George and Marie (Hanson) Nash. She attended rural school and Montevideo High School.

She married Chester Stageberg on April 5, 1936. They lived in Madison, where she was employed at Ulrich's Fashion Dress and Gift Shop. Chester died in 1991. She moved to Willmar.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, treasurer of the ALCW and Golden Age Group, Circle chairman, and served on the altar committee. She was a charter member and treasurer of the Lac Qui Parle Study Club of Madison. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Lac Qui Parle Historical Society of Madison and Vinje Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her son: David (and Phyllis) Stageberg of Willmar; three grandsons; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister and five brothers.
