PARK RAPIDS -- Wallace Arthur East, 81, of Park Rapids, formerly of Willmar, died Tuesday at the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids.
The service will be at 1 p.m. today at Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Park Rapids. A private burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
He was born Aug. 11, l925, in Foley to Emil and Alice (Johnson) East. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school near Foley. He moved to St. Cloud.

He married Gail Kardell on Sept. 2, 1949, in St. Cloud. He worked as an ice delivery man and appliance repair man in St. Cloud. They moved to Willmar in 1960 and he worked as an electrician for the Kandiyohi County Electric Coop. He later worked as an electrician for the Burlington Northern Railroad in Dilworth. He retired from the railroad in 1987 and they moved to their farm north of Park Rapids. Thye moved to Park Rapids in 1995. He moved to Heritage Living Center in 2006.
He is survived by his wife; four sons: David (and Joey) East of Park Rapids, James East of Park Rapids, Gene (and Sandy) East of Willmar, Jeff (and Nicki) East of Dodgeville, Wis.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three siblings: Betty (and Leonard) Aarhus of Brainerd, Dorothy (and Dvaid) Thole of Minneapolis, and Robert (and Jane) East of Clearwater, Fla.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
