HECTOR -- Wallace Jerome Johnson, 91, of Hector, died Monday at the Waconia Good Samaritan Center.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Swedlanda Lutheran Church in Palmyra Township, rural Hector. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hughes Funeral Home in Hector and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
He was born Aug. 8, 1914, in Palmyra Township, Renville County, to Walter and Eleanora (Anderson) Johnson. He grew up in Palmyra Township and attended rural school District 91.

He married Ethel Nelson on Feb. 25, 1939, in Camp Township, Renville County. They lived and farmed in Martinsburg Township for many years. They retired and moved to Hector. Ethel died in 1995.
He was a member of Swedlanda Evangelical Lutheran Church and served on the church board. He also served on the Hector Elevator Board, the Martinsburg Towhship Board, and the first Renville County Hospital Board of Directors.
He is survived by his children: Jerome (and Gail) Johnson of Hector, Karen (and Gene) Peters of Waconia; five granddaughters; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; two brothers and one sister.
