ATWATER -- Walter Wilhelm Mahn, 92, of Willmar, formerly of Atwater, died Monday at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church north of Atwater. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Atwater Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
He was born Aug. 1, 1913, in Harrison Township, Kandiyohi County, to Henry and Anna (Becker) Mahn. He received his early education at St. John Lutheran School and attended District 3 Public School in Kandiyohi County. He helped his parents on the farm and worked as a hired man for different farmers.

He married Lydia Toensing on Jan. 22, 1941. They farmed near Atwater for 31 years. They sold their farm and moved into Atwater in 1974. He worked at Jennie-O in Willmar for a year and for farmers in the summer and fall for several years.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and served on the school and cemetery boards.
He is survived by his children: Eletta (and Ronnie) Linn of Blomkest, Mavis (and James) Olson of Atwater, Eunice (and Russell) McBroom of Hamel, Delwin Mahn of Melrose; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and sisters: Minnie Hintz of Atwater and Adeline Olson of Dassel.
He was preceded in death by his wife; and one brother.
