WILLMAR -- Riverland never let Ridgewater have control of the lead as the Blue Devils handed the Warriors their seventh straight loss by posting an 87-84 win the MCCC Southern Division Wednesday.
The Blue Devils (1-2, 5-10) bolted to a 9-0 lead. The Warriors (0-3, 3-10) made a run to close within 16-14, only to have the visitors pull away again, 34-21.
David Johnson finished with 29 points for the Warriors.
Ridgewater's Allen Huselid had a hot first half, draining four 3-pointers, the final one making it 46-41, but again the Blue Devils answered. Derek Roeder hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Blue Devils a 51-40 lead.
