Warriors not able to match Wildcats' height; fall 93-82

WAHPETON, N.D. -- The Ridgewater College men's basketball teams faced the tallest lineup it will likely see this campaign when it took on North Dakota State College of Science.

WAHPETON, N.D. -- The Ridgewater College men's basketball teams faced the tallest lineup it will likely see this campaign when it took on North Dakota State College of Science.

The Wildcats barged to a 53-35 halftime lead and went on to defeat the Warriors 93-82 Wednesday night.

The front line for NDSCS, now 8-1, went 7-foot, 6-11 and 6-10 but Ridgewater still managed to match their host in rebounding, 39 to 38.

"We learned a lot tonight," said coach Bob Knutson. "We actually played pretty well against a very good team. They were quick, too."

The Wildcats' leaders included 6-10 Touhami Ghazoul of Algers, Algeria, with 19 points and 6-11 Joe Dorsett of Bronx, N.Y., with 10 points and five rebounds.

Ridgewater sniped over the Wildcat pillars making 13 of 32 three-point attempts. David Johnson had three of them and finished with 16 points. Isaac Brehmer and Terrance Walton also were in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
