WILLMAR – The snowfall Saturday and Sunday hit the one-foot mark in western Minnesota. The National Weather Service received a report of 12 inches as of Saturday evening in Holloway.

A report north of Willmar recorded 8.4 inches as of Sunday morning.

The weather service tweeted on Saturday that snow totals fell a bit from early predictions thanks to the initial push of rain.

Other area snowfall amounts reported are as follows:

  • 10.5 inches Sunday morning at Lake Lillian
  • 10.5 inches late Saturday night at Benson
  • 10 inches Sunday morning near Canby
  • 9.4 inches Sunday morning near Paynesville
  • 8.5 inches Saturday evening near Milan
  • 7.4 inches Sunday morning near Danube
  • 7 inches Saturday evening Montevideo
  • 7 inches Saturday evening Madison
  • 5.5 inches Saturday evening Redwood Falls
  • 5.3 inches Saturday evening Granite Falls
