APPLETON — Swift County Fair-goers had to take cover from a storm Saturday night in Appleton.
Several photos of dark skies are posted on the Swift County Fair's Facebook page, and comments show that people took shelter inside of buildings at the fairgrounds to wait for the storm to pass.
Other posts on the page show a tractor pull was canceled after the rain, but other evening events were able to go on.
There are also several photos of the storm passing over the fairgrounds posted on the Facebook page of Ascheman Electric of Milan.
A weather observer in Benson reported the Saturday storm brought 1.12 inch of rainfall.
The National Weather Service storm reports page does not show any reports from Swift County as of Sunday morning, but there were a handful from western Minnesota.
A funnel cloud was spotted just before 8 p.m. Saturday near Hoffman in Grant County. There were three reports of hail in Big Stone County starting just before 7 p.m. and the last just before 8 p.m.
