WILLMAR — Hazardous wind chills of 25 below to 35 below are forecast today through Wednesday morning across central Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

A Wind Chill Advisory from the National Weather Service is in effect now in portions of central Minnesota, including Morris, Glenwood and St. Cloud, and the advisory tonight will expand to a larger area north of a line from Montevideo and Red Wing, Minnesota, to Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

The broader advisory, which includes Kandiyohi County as well as Chippewa, Meeker, Renville and Swift counties in the Willmar region, begins at 9 p.m. and lasts until noon Wednesday.

The weather service advisory reminds people that the dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. Use caution while venturing outdoors. Wear appropriate clothing, including a hat and gloves, and dress in layers.
