MORRIS -- Wesley Walter Ernst Jr., 77, of Alberta died Thursday at the SCMC Courage Cottage in Morris.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Federated Church in Morris. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in Morris.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
He was born Oct. 9, 1928, in Graceville to Emma and Wesley W. Ernst Sr. He attended school through eighth grade in Alberta. The family moved to Morris and he attended high school. He played drums for several area dance bands. He attended Moorhead State Teachers College for two years and then returned to Alberta in 1949 and farmed with his father.

He married Edna Alver on Nov. 3, 1953. They farmed and he also worked as a salesman for American Breeder's Service from 1969 to 1980. He retired from farming in 1992.
He is survived by his wife; children: Douglas Ernst (and Bev Benson) of Plymouth, Valerie (and Lynn) Lemke of Olathe, Kan., Nancy (and Tim) Wilkerson of Merriam, Kan.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two granddaughters.
