WILLMAR - West central Minnesota is included in a winter storm warning which will remain in effect through early Friday afternoon.
The warning predicts snowfall from 6 to 12 inches in an area from southwestern Minnesota into western Wisconsin.
The National Weather Service predicts that travel will be hazardous tonight and Friday. The snow will be heavy and wet, making it difficult to shovel.

The severe weather conditions could make travel dangerous in some areas, and motorists are urged to carry food, water and other survival gear in their vehicles.
Heavy snow is expected to develop this afternoon north and west of a line from the Twin Cities through Mankato. The Weather Service has predicted that that Willmar could receive 5 to 9 inches of snow this afternoon and tonight. The precipitation is expected to begin as a wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow. Snow will spread east through the night.
Winds are expected to increase through the night to winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts up to 40 mph on Friday.
Temperatures will be in the upper 20s tonight and into the mid-30s during the day on Friday before falling into the teens Friday night. Through the weekend and early next week, high temperatures are predicted to be in the 40s, and lows around 30.
