The Coalition for Healthy Adolescent Sexuality is a volunteer-based organization that's supported by Willmar Public Schools, Rice Memorial Hospital, Hope Pregnancy Center, Planned Parenthood of Willmar, Kandiyohi County Public Health, Kandiyohi County Family Services, New London-Spicer Public Schools, Affiliated Community Medical Centers and West Central Integration Collaborative.
Funding provided by the Otto Bremer Foundation and Willmar Area Community Foundation helped the coalition obtain the equipment and materials needed to provide the community presentations.
Many of the current coalition members and organizations had been involved with the Kandiyohi County Teen Pregnancy Prevention Coalition, which was disbanded after grant money ran out about two years ago. Volunteers kept the work going until a new funding source was found, which helps fund materials, equipment and salary for the coalition's only paid staff person, Mary Holstad.
