APPLETON -- Wilbur James Paulson, 87, of Appleton died Wednesday at the Appleton Municipal Hospital.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home, Vaala Chapel, in Appleton.

He was born Sept. 10, 1918, in Hegbert Township, Swift County, to John and Annie (Austin) Paulson. He attended District 64 school in Drywood Township. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Helen Lund on May 10, 1949, in Marshall. They farmed until 1952. He worked for Louis and Bud Shelstad until 1966. He worked at Standard Lumber in Appleton until he retired.

He was member of VFW Post 4955 in Appleton.

He is survived by his wife; sons: David Paulson, Mark (and Debbie) Paulson, all of Appleton; one grandson; one stepgrandson; one great-granddauther; and one sister: Ida Hanson of Morris.

He was preceded in death by his daughter: Kathryn Ann Paulson; one sister and six brothers.
