REDWOOD FALLS -- William Dean "Bill" Crooks, 52, of Redwood Falls died Thursday at Seasons in Redwood Falls.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Chapel in Redwood Falls.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

He was born Feb. 3, 1956, Redwood Falls to Phillip and Betty (Bear) Crooks. He lived on the Lower Sioux Community until 1959 when he moved to Minors Oaks, Calif., with his family. They returned to the Lower Sioux Community in 1961. He received his elementary schooling on the Lower Sioux Community and in Minors Oaks and attended Morton High School. In 1972, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. Then he lived in Quebec, Ontario. In 1978, he moved to Granite Falls.

He married Cheri Warner on July 1, 1988, on the Lower Sioux Community. They lived on the Lower Sioux Community. In 2004, they moved to Redwood Falls.

He is survived by his wife; sons: Derek (and Cheryl) Carruth of Morton, and Josh Crooks (and special-friend, Ali Redding) of Redwood Falls; step-daughter: Angela Harms of Minneapolis; two grandchildren; a step-grandson: Trevor Harms; and brothers: Steve (and Betty) Crooks of Morton, Richard (and Joyce) Crooks of Redwood Falls, and Phillip Victor Crooks of Morton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; a step-daughter: Missy Harms; and his step-father: Louie Weerts.
