Willmar Area Food Shelf names Ziehl executive director

WILLMAR -- Willmar Area Food Shelf announces the selection of Alana Ziehl as the new executive director. Ziehl will fill the vacancy left by Christie Kurth, longtime director.

WILLMAR - Willmar Area Food Shelf announces the selection of Alana Ziehl as the new executive director. Ziehl will fill the vacancy left by Christie Kurth, longtime director.
“We are very excited to bring Alana on board to be a part of and lead the Food Shelf team,’’ said Interim Director Kari Goldschmidt. Goldschmidt will resume her role as assistant director – marketing and fund development.
Ziehl has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an associate degree in accounting. She has 16 years of experience working at Bethesda in Willmar in the accounting/human resources department. Most recently she was program director with Central Minnesota Senior Care of Willmar.
“Alana will bring leadership, compassion, and an extensive background in human resources, financials, programming, and working with volunteers,” Goldschmidt said.
Ziehl will begin her duties Sept. 28. The Willmar Area Food Shelf is a local nonprofit that is providing food assistance to approximately 900 families a month.
